We are excited to announce that Overseas Council has become part of the United World Mission family!

The mission of Overseas Council is to equip Christian leaders by partnering with vital seminaries worldwide to advance God’s Kingdom.

Overseas Council (OC) began in 1974 as an effort of five Indianapolis businessmen to provide scholarships to needy seminary students in Korea. Today Overseas Council works with 130 leading seminaries in 70 nations. We believe that healthy churches need healthy leaders.

Through programs of continuing education and mentoring for seminary leaders and faculty, scholarships enabling men and women to afford theological studies, and other innovative initiatives, OC strengthens the equipping of Christian leaders around the world.

Through its merger with OC, UWM is uniquely positioned to deliver excellent traditional and non-traditional training to greater numbers of Christ’s servants. Together with our partners, we provide leadership development from the grassroots to the classroom — for pastors, church planters and missionaries as well as for scholars and thought leaders.

We have come together to tackle the great mission challenge of our day:

90% of churches around the world are led by men and women who have little or no training for ministry. Our goal is bold: to make relevant theological education, practical training, and spiritual formation accessible to every ministry leader in every nation.
