Pre-Field Cultural Ministry
Training
"Having never before served overseas as a missionary made me consciously aware of what I didn’t know," said Paul Carter. "Like many new missionaries there is a gap between where I am and where I want to be but the bigger gap is one of knowledge and experience."
United World Mission draws on the resources of the Center for Intercultural Training (CIT) in Union Mills, NC. CIT exists to equip missionaries and other Christian professionals for cross-cultural living and ministry. Due to the high attrition of first term missionaries, CIT strives to meet the emotional, spiritual and family needs of their students. The goal is for the students to not only survive in a cross-cultural setting, but to truly thrive in a different cultural environment as a result of their cross-cultural ministry training.
