United World Mission partners with the Congo Initiative, a non-profit that trains and develops strong, indigenous Christian leaders to transform their communities and their nation of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Thus, whereas turmoil resulting from political and social unrest has left behind a body of Congolese lacking proper leadership, instruction, and spiritual nurture, the Congo Initiative brings a new alternative by providing solid education, holistic practices, Biblical leadership training, discipleship, and mentoring. DRC is faced with the monumental task of nation building, and CI is assisting with efforts by mobilizing resources locally and abroad, which will significantly influence the rebuilding of the nation. Currently UWM has three workers, a digital media specialist, a nurse and an economics and micro-finance specialist, teaching at the University established by the Congo Initiative. UWM is actively looking for passionate believers who hold graduate level degrees and have a desire to serve on the faculty at the school founded by the Congo Initiative.
