When people think of Belgium, usually chocolate and waffles come to mind. But Belgian culture goes deeper than food. Like most of Western Europe, Belgians are largely indifferent to the Gospel message. This attitude towards things of faith stems from many factors including relative affluence and a government that meets most of the people’s physical needs. This worldview requires that Christian workers find new approaches for sharing the Good News of Jesus. United World Mission’s long-standing work is working to preserve the inroads made as well as developing and transitioning to meet these new challenges.
