One of the competencies United World Mission continues to develop is our ability to innovate. The world is changing and adjustments in our approach to global engagement had to change with it. In the past missionaries came to a local church, shared their personal calling to a particular place or ministry, and asked for funds and prayer. Churches responded to the vision of these workers. Over time churches found themselves supporting a diverse, disconnected collection of individual visions.

This approach was a successful model for expanding God’s Kingdom for many years but in the 21st century it is proving inadequate for two basic reasons: (1) It fails to engage the hearts of God’s people today in the priority task of fulfilling His mandate and (2) It ignores the incredible potential of lay believers and the resources God has invested in them for Kingdom impact.

Collaborative partnerships leverage the engagement of the entire body of Christ. Every person potentially can take their skills, passions, and accomplishments and engage them contextually into relationship with an international partner.

Today United World Mission facilitates partnerships on four continents for churches, businesses and other groups interested in participating in the amazing work God is doing around the globe. Investigate what He is doing.
