Church Growth

C and J have just returned from a Pastor's Conference. Their purpose was to facilitate Church Planting training among 120 pastors of churches in surrounding districts. Many of the pastors in outlying areas had heard about the training and wanted to bring it to their villages too. With a population in the city of around 125,000 fewer than 1% claim to be Christians so the amount of work to be accomplished there is huge.

It is exciting to see that those being trained are applying what they have learned. Ten new churches were planted last year with an additional 10 churches starting as of February of 2006. God is on the move in this area. As the number of churches grow, we are brainstorming with the local leaders for ways of supporting themselves financially without creating dependence upon outside funds. A couple of ideas on the table include raising goats and crops. Please pray along with us that God will make His will and plans known to our brothers and sisters.
