What's your story?
"The world has changed and what are we going to do about it?", asked Dwight Smith, former president of United World Mission. In the late 1980’s we found ourselves standing at a crossroads. The status quo didn’t seem to fit the world anymore, but change meant uncertainty. We took the risk of change. For 40+ years we had planted churches by doing it ourselves. Now we stepped into a new world as facilitators and equippers of national leaders and church planters. The past twenty years have proved that it was the right change at the right time.
Today as the world continues to change very rapidly, United World Mission seeks to continue that same spirit of faith and innovation. We continue to learn to serve with Christians around the world. But here’s the new thing: We are also learning to facilitate the work of local churches from North America that want to make a global impact! Our Global Church Partnership initiative is helping churches connect to Cuba, Slovenia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Senegal. One more important part of who we are is Expedition237! This is a two-year test drive in missions that will help a new generation make an impact on the world and discover their future calling at the same time.
All so we can see a church for every town, village, and neighborhood.
