Leadership Training

We have had 2 major accomplishments in the past few months with the church in Turkana that I wanted to share.  First being the writing of the constitution and organizing of the CCF (Church of Christ Fellowship).   Those churches consist of the churches that UWM and CMF established in Turkana together with the churches that CMF had established in Massai.  This church organization has been a big step in bringing together the churches and helping them see and understand how they are organized and can work together.  We trust that Lord will use the organization to grow His church in Turkana.

Leadership Training in Turkana is a big challenge and a hard job.  The opening of the Turkana Training school for the CCF leaders we feel is going to make a big difference in the training of the church leadership and growing of the Turkana church.  We felt the need for this training center because as far as we have been able to discover there is no training in the Turkana language for church leaders.  It involves one week a month for teaching, the the rest of the month the shepherds put into practice what they have learned in their home area.  The very first week, among other topics, the issue of HIV/AIDS was addressed as it is becoming a real challenge for the church in all of Africa.  Please continue to pray for those in Turkana and all of Africa.
