Thailand
The Thai Kingdom
has existed since the 13 th century and is the only Southeast
Asian country never to have been ruled or conquered by a western
power. The Thais are proud of their freedom and "Thailand"
literally means land of the free. While Thailand enjoys freedom
of religion, less than two percent of the population would
identify themselves this way. Thailand is overwhelmingly a
Buddhist country. To be Thai is to be Buddhist.
United
World Mission has located its Asian headquarters in this country.
From this strategic base, cross-cultural workers from Asia
can come and go freely, be provided with needed intervals
of rest and conduct times of strategy development.
The
team in Bangkok is looking for new long and short term missionaries
who have a desire to help Thai churches start college ministries
which will lead to planting new churches.

We serve in Chiang
Mai, Thailand where I am the Area Director for Asia and my
wife works in a school for missionary kids. As Area
Director, I oversee our facilitative teams in China, India
and Nepal as well as helping to open new fields in Asia.
After a season working in the business world, our family served
in Guatemala and later Eastern Europe before our current role
in Asia. We are excited to be a part of seeing the Church
grow among the unreached peoples of Asia.

I
am from Birmingham , AL and a 1985 graduate of Samford
University. After working in advertising for several
years, I went to Bangkok, Thailand in 1990 with a team to
reach college students with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In
1996 my wife, a Clearwater, FL native and a Furman University
graduate, came to Thailand as a part of a short-term mission
project. After teaching elementary school for a year,
she returned to Thailand in 1998 as a teacher for missionary
children. We were married in 1999 and have three children.
We have lead worship for conferences and retreats,
and also recorded a worship CD. After 15 years with
Campus Outreach, God led us to join with United World Mission
in 2004 to focus on leadership development and facilitating
church planting. I lead the UWM team in Bangkok and
work with Thais. My wife serves alongside me as wife and full-time
homemaker, while discipling Thai women. We are committed to
building laborers on the campus, influencing leaders in the
city of Bangkok, and multiplying churches in the country of
Thailand to expand the Kingdom of God on the Continent of
Asia for the glory of God.

I am a physical therapist from Birmingham, AL. I spent almost a year and a half ministering at a children's home in Guatemala where I felt the Lord was leading me to a nation that did not have a gospel witness. I traveled to Thailand in 2004 and fell in love with the Thai people. I chose United World Mission because I believe that the most strategic missionary work is that of a facilitator. My passion is for social justice and I hope to see the Thai people catch a vision for planting churches that transform communities as they address the social injustices in their cities and minister to the poor and marginalized in their society.
