Lithuania
United
World Mission's non-resident team members began working in
Lithuania in 2001. The initial approach was to "scout
out the land". As a result of this fact-finding and networking,
our UWM team was invited to give a Saturation Church Planting
seminar in February 2003 (audio CDs of this event available).
Multi-denominational participation in this envisioning weekend
resulted in a few select leaders proclaiming, "The whole
church taking the whole gospel to the whole of Lithuania".
Our team's role is to help this dream become a reality. We
are continuing to develop relationships and trust. At the
same time, church planter training is happening in Kaunas
and Birzai. The Kaunas church has a vision for saturating
a 135 km geographic circle with living communities of believers.
The Birzai congregation is seeking to expand from their town
of 15,000 people into the surrounding county.
United
World Mission is actively working to field additional personal
into this country.
