Uruguay
In 2002 United Wordl Mission missionaries in Uruguay trained 115 workers. Thirty-five were trained as church planters while 80 received theological and doctrinal teaching. Five new churches resulted from the efforts of the national pastors trained. Because of the increased desire for training in church planting, our team decided that next year they would begin an investigative & training tour of every department. This will provide important statistics on how best to assist the national church in Saturation Church Planting.
United World Mission is actively seeking additional cross-cultural workers whose desire is to reach the emerging middle class population and those attending University as well as partnerships to complete needed projects that will propel national initiatives forward.

Ladaere and I grew up in Christian families and accepted Christ at an early age. Both of us felt the call to missions at an early age as well. After graduating from Spring Arbor College we spent 3 months on an island in the Philippines in a tribal setting. We then taught at a Christian school in Detroit and headed to seminary shortly after our oldest daughter Rachael 9 was born. Our son Joshua 8 was born while Joe attended seminary. After graduating from Liberty we did a 2-year internship at First Baptist Church in Albion. During that time we raised support and attended training at CIT.
In Dec. of 97 we headed to Costa Rica to learn Spanish. While in Costa Rica our youngest daughter Rebecca now 5 joined her brother and sister. We arrived in Uruguay in Aug of 98. We spent 3 years working in the city of Florida making several language and cultural blunders but helped to start 3 churches. We have spent the last 2 1/2 years living closer to the capital working with several seminaries, enabling us to meet future leaders; training church planters through a condensed version of the Omega course; and working with the Uruguay arm of DAWN as we strategically plant churches where there are few. Joe is also serving as CO-Area Director for Latin America.

I
was born and raised in Minnesota and went to Mexico in 2000
when I was 19, planning to stay for a few months. God turned
that few months into 2 ½ years. I was involved helping
a church develop their worship ministry. My love for the Hispanic
people and culture continues to give me hope that I will continue
to serve the Lord in Latin America. I found out about the
vision and values of United World Mission to empower and equip
nationals to reach their own people last summer and how this
vision really was the same as mine. Step-by-step, God confirmed
it and opened the doors to join United World Mission. My heart
and passion is worship and praise. I want to build worship
teams and train leaders as an integral part of church planting.
Claudia'´s love for children and worship is impossible
to hide! With a heart to see each child grow to maturity in
Christ, she serves eagerly as a children´s pastor.
On December 3rd, 2005, Josh and Claudia became one in marriage
with a passion take the message of Christ to the nations.
They are willing to go where God sends them.
Melanie
I
grew up in Georgia and have lived in Asheville , NC since
1988. I came to know Christ at age 12 because of the strong
influence of a neighbor. I began working with a church puppet
team in my teen years, discovering a passion for puppetry.
I have also worked
with other creative arts, using them in ministry mostly to
children. I have been a registered nurse since 1992, primarily
working in Pediatrics and home health. My many medical mission
trips overseas lead into children's ministry training
and a desire to work overseas long term. With God's leading,
I am now raising support to go to Uruguay full-time with United
World Mission to teach children's ministry, including puppetry,
mime, drama, and clowning.
