Greece

Since 1995, United World Mission has been building relationships of trust and respect with national pastors, churches and foreign ministry organizations. With less than .02% Evangelical believers in Greece, we are committed to seeing every 1000 people (Greeks as well as many other nationalities) have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel, using traditional churches, small groups or cell churches. We believe we are here to envision and serve the local churches and ministries in accomplishing that goal, which includes gathering statistical/demographical information, meeting regularly for prayer and discussion, partnering with outreaches, providing training and other resources. In addition to the local body of believers and general evangelism, we are involved in specific ministries to women in prostitution, drug addicts, the homeless and refugees. We need short-term teams, who will come, pray and serve, and long-term individuals or families who will join us to see God transform lives here in Greece!"

United World Mission is actively working to field additional personal into this country as well as developing needed partnerships to complete field projects.

We came to Greece in 1990, on a short-term missions trip with a Greek mission organization.  Touched by the incredible need for work among youth and the small percentage of believers in general (less than .02%), we began preparing to return.  We came as career missionaries in 1995, living in Thessaloniki.  We are passionate about helping the existing churches plant more churches, so that every person in Greece has the opportunity to hear the Gospel!  Along with serving in our local church through small group leadership, youth ministry and worship, God has called us to two specific ministries: "Project Barnabas" and "Door of Life."  Through "Project Barnabas" Alan gathers information (about the current spiritual condition of the churches, demographics, cultural statistics, etc.), meets with national pastors and missionaries to cast vision for starting new churches, and prays with local pastors and missionaries for both personal and church revival.  Through "Door of Life" Whitney and other local evangelical women, go into the prostitute district of Thessaloniki each week, praying and sharing the love of Christ with the women in the bars and on the street.
